Relationship Awareness for Singles

Single and Stumped?
It’s a new world out there for singles! How, why, and whether people date is completely different than it was even five years ago for the young. And, if you’re single mid-life, you might have decided to give it up altogether after trying online dating. How do you navigate today’s technology and social scene that were unheard of decades ago?

Single women and men, whether you’ve never been in a committed relationship, or you’re in between relationships, can benefit from individual therapy or coaching to explore your situation. And, to get support for the frustrations the single life can bring.

When people come to me for help dealing with single life and have a desire to be in a healthy committed relationship, we initially explore these questions:

  • How have relationships gone in the past?
  • What lessons have you learned that can guide you now?
  • What are you looking for in a new, healthier relationship?
  • What are your relationship expectations?
  • What do you want to know about yourself and your relationship patterns so you can go into your next relationship with better awareness and skills?
  • What are the red flags of incompatibility to watch out for?

We aren’t taught any of this in school or even intentionally in our families growing up. Most people learn these lessons after the fact, when a relationship ends, sometimes painfully.

During your time in therapy while you are single, there’s so much you can learn about yourself and your relationships:

  • What are your typical patterns when initiating a relationship?
  • To what and to whom are you attracted?
  • What relationships have worked well and why?
  • What relationships have been a struggle and why?
  • Do you even know how to “date” vs. becoming attached right away?
  • How can you make sure not to make the same mistakes again?
  • How do you improve relationship awareness and skills to attract the most compatible mate?
  • How do you heal from past relationship hurts?

If you have any of these questions, please know you don’t have to struggle alone to find the answers.

Relationship Awareness through Therapy or Coaching

When I work with single women and men who are evaluating their past relationships and wanting something better next time, I am excited for them! In our society, it is common to get training to do almost any job, from technical skills to college degrees. However, when it comes to our relationships, which just so happen to be THE most important aspect of life satisfaction, there is literally no training! There is barely a thought about it.

But it doesn’t have to and shouldn’t be this way. There is so much information available today to help people develop healthy relationships. Singles should be taking advantage of it.

So, if you are a single person who wants to be conscious and fully aware of how you choose, who you choose, the reasons you choose or don’t choose someone to spend your life with, then relationship therapy or coaching is the wisest choice you can make at this time in your life. With the tools and awareness you’ll come away with, you will be much more likely to make the best choice of a partner that is truly compatible with your desires and personality. And, you’ll learn about accepting influence from and sharing your world with your future partner and how this help you grow into a successful, long-term partnership.
Call me today at 706-565-6062 to schedule your initial session to take an educated and clear path toward finding the relationship of your dreams. I can’t wait to take that journey with you!
